Layering

An easy way to transform the simplest of moulds into a visual feast is to for layers of different colours or flavoured Jelly to create a striped effect. Choose contrasting colours or use a neutral, milk layer to really make a single hue pop.

Layering

Method

It's remarkably simple to achieve the layered effect - but it does take patience, you must wait for the jellies to reach room temperature and you have to let them solidify before adding the next layer to acheive a nice clean line

  1. Choose your colours and make the mixes in the normal way.
  2. At this point it's vital you allow them to cool until they reach room temperature.
  3. Add your first layer and refrigerate for 30 minutes, so it sets
  4. Add your next colour - you can use even bands or vary thickness to produce different effects - then let it set in the fridge
  5. Repeat until the mould is full and leave overnight in the fridge for a final set
