Layering
An easy way to transform the simplest of moulds into a visual feast is to for layers of different colours or flavoured Jelly to create a striped effect. Choose contrasting colours or use a neutral, milk layer to really make a single hue pop.
Method
It's remarkably simple to achieve the layered effect - but it does take patience, you must wait for the jellies to reach room temperature and you have to let them solidify before adding the next layer to acheive a nice clean line
- Choose your colours and make the mixes in the normal way.
- At this point it's vital you allow them to cool until they reach room temperature.
- Add your first layer and refrigerate for 30 minutes, so it sets
- Add your next colour - you can use even bands or vary thickness to produce different effects - then let it set in the fridge
- Repeat until the mould is full and leave overnight in the fridge for a final set
